Does anyone know if this has to do with misting ? I’ve had 3 new leaves come in since I’ve started misting and they’re brown and sort of limpy ? Any advice on how to care for this gorgeous monster is appreciated! 😁 other than this she’s growing great !

I choose not to mist my plants because after doing a bit of research, I learned that it doesn’t actually have many benefits. It doesn’t raise humidity, it can cause rot in some plants, and it can cause fungal infections. However, if this is on the new leaves, I don’t think it was caused by the misting.

I’ve had it for maybe 3 months and I just recently started having this problem after misting so I’m not sure what else it could be 🥲

If I mist my monstera when she’s growing a new leaf, the leaf always comes out like this. I don’t mist now, but clean the leaves instead.

Thanks ! I only noticed after I started misting, I like wiping as well 😇

I don’t mist and I am also growing a leaf like this. I thought it was a stem, but it started to fall over and looked like it was unraveling so I tied it to a post so it would grow upright. But if it’s just a leaf should I just let it do its thing?

Does it have any brown spotting I’m not seeing in the photo ? It looks like a new leaf ! I had a tall leaf and stem come out of another.

No, maybe some browning along the stem but it seems ok

I would try to avoid new leaves as water can get in there and cause rot

Much appreciated 😁 should I cut these leaves off that seem rotted ?

I would!! Don’t want the rot to spread
