This is my Monstera that I bought at Trader Joe’s a few months ago. When I bought her, she immediately started shooting out new leaves. But it has been quite a while since she had any new growth. I have never taken care of this kind of plant before so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Any thoughts?

For more info, she is right by a window that gets a decent amount of indirect sunlight. This winter has been especially overcast though, so she is most likely getting less sun than usual.

Was she in a smaller pot when you purchased her? That pot might be a bit big for her which once of the things that can happen when they’re in a big pot is they focus on creating more roots and not new leaf growth. It can also take the soil longer to dry when the soil to root ratio is off which can lead to rot. She looks healthy, but you might consider repotting her in a pot that is only 1-2 inches larger than her root ball. 🌿🪴

Which I see the gnat catcher thing you have which indicates the soil is probably staying wet too long leading to fungus gnats

Mine is from Trader Joe’s too and she’s growing new leaves like crazy. I have her in an east-facing window but also under a grow light. I put her in a terra cotta pot with well-draining soil and I fertilize regularly. Your plant looks healthy!

I have a Trader Joe’s monstera too! I got mine about a year ago, and it pretty much doubled in size over the spring and summer. It hasnt grown much recently either, which might just be because it’s winter so it’s getting less sunlight. Yours looks really healthy though so I’m sure it’ll start growing again in the spring!
