Hi all! Looking for some advice. My monstera roots are starting to grow through the drainage holes in its existing pot which is about 12” in diameter and 12-14” deep (plastic). Should I look to repot in a larger pot? I use Leca as the medium and curious if any of you have a similar set up and suggestions on the next pot type and size. Help please 🤗

Generally they love being rootbound so i’d hold off repotting for a while still, let the roots almost fill the pot!

Awesome, thank you! I am gonna take her out and clean her up and pot back in the same pot. She showed signs of root rot due to the basin catching more water this last month. Will keep her in this pot until she grows out of it.

I think it can still stay in the same pot, unless it’s completely bursting out the pot? Monsteras are big plants and have a lot of roots, so I think it would be normal for them to stick out after a while in a semi-hydro setup.

the roots that were coming out were too moist and starting to root rot and I noticed one smaller separate growth showed the same signs as well but oddly shorter roots. I’m going to take her out, clean her up, and place her back.
