Unless the water quality isn’t great where you are, I think tap water will do fine. I use tap water on my adansonii and he’s thriving :)

setting tap water out overnight does nothing but let it warm up unfortunately. if you’re concerned about the chlorine/fluoride levels in your tap water consider using an aquarium water conditioner for your plants

maybe you should look into the chemical reactions that happen when you add things like sodium thiosulfate, the active ingredient in many water conditioners, to tap water affected with chlorine, chloramine, bromine, and other chemicals

I use the filtered water that comes out of my fridge. Works fine.

I live in a place where the water is heavily treated and I can’t personally drink it so I don’t expect my plants too. LOL I filter it and the boil it. I know, overkill. But seems to work great. I also will add a quarter teaspoon of liquid fertilizer to each watering can. Not so much for the fertilizer, but to add at least a few minerals and nutrients that the filtering strips out. Nothing scientific in my methods, but again, my plants seem to like it.
