Hello! I’ve recently run into some issues with my monstera and am looking for advice. I recently fertilized the plant with the same amount of fertilizer I usually use and almost immediately afterwards one of the leaves turned yellow. It’s gotten progressively worse. The rest of the plant seems to be super happy and healthy. I’ve reached out to one of the “plant experts” from this app and they said it could be a lighting issue, a watering issue, a nutrient issue, or that the plant could be root bound. I’ve since requested more clarification from them but I was wondering if anyone here had any insight. Thank you!

If all of the other leaves and the plant in general look fine, it could really just be the leaf naturally turning yellow. It may be coincidental that you fertilized it on the same day but I don’t think it was your fault. If you do start to see the plant get droopy or yellow like that leaf, then I do recommend refraining from using that fertilizer again.

This is what I thought as well. Could just be the plant naturally shedding leaves, especially if you’re not noticing any issues with other leaves. Just snip it off and keep a close eye on the rest of the plant for the next little while.

^^ agreed with above!! Sometimes they kill off older leaves to use that energy for growing new ones!
