Hi everyone, I bought this baby monstera (Freddie) a few months back from petco believe it or not, and after changing out his water this week I realized his roots were a lot darker and wanted to know if it was root rot. I was looking to transfer him into soil soon hopefully even this weekend but I’m unsure what to do if it is root rot. Any suggestions/ideas would help tremendously!

Roots with rot will be dark and mushy. It is also usually very stinky. The roots in these pictures look fine to me!

It could be algae! Probably getting more real sun

Off topic but what did you pay for it? I saw the same jar/lid combo with some pothos in it for $20… bought it anyway just for the prop jar
