Ariel roots on Monsteras? Getting a miss feed on what to do. If I have a lower Ariel root what will happen if I let it go down into the dirt since it’s in the middle of my plant now?? I know some just let them hang over the edge of the pots. That being said my plant is younger like only 7 leaves. Can you cut Ariel roots if they get long and ugly in length or just really let them root into the soil!!! Many responding to this would be appropriated.

It will just become support for it. And then it will grow as a regular root in soil get stronger on outside to support the stem. You can cut them. Totally up to you. Moss poles are the best!

You can plant them back in the dirt or cut them off! It won’t affect your plant

Agree with both of the above. It’s your preference. I have some that have gone inside the dirt and become support and grown more roots on them, and I have plenty on the outside. In addition to supporting the plant’s vertical/horizontal growth, they help take in nutrients/moisture, and if your goal is big leaves with lots of holes, you may want to consider keeping most of them. When you cut, it could slow the overall growth of your plant, so maybe consider early fall for pruning them. Also, just know that when you prune them, it’ll stimulate more aerial roots to grow. 😬 Here’s mine for reference.
