Teach me about aerial roots!! What do I do with them? Are they supposed to eventually reach soil?

    Some people put them in little cups of water too, they say it promotes more growth. Haven’t tried it as I prefer to let it do it’s own thing. Picture of my Monstera to show it doesn’t really need that to grow lol

    I put small cups or shot glasses in the soil for the Ariel roots to reach. I noticed when I did this, new leaves would spout like crazy!

    I’ve seen aerial roots tap into pots near my very old monstera. They get more water and nutrients that help the plant get taller and put out very large leaves.
