Just got my newest plant in the mail Today, a tiny monstera Thai con!
Good luck 😩 No seriously… I got one about a month ago that I didn’t know what tissue cultured and it’s been barely clinging to life. It’s mad about every spot I put it in, about the amount of water it gets, hates every substrate. Leaves keep crisping and curling, then suddenly a new leaf sheath comes…all very confusing! But it is so beautiful and I’m so happy for you! I just wanted you to know that it might happen to you so you can be proactive!

Yes! I’ve heard how finicky they can be! I’ve done my fair share of research and I know that they are super prone to root rot! Can I see a pic of yours? I hope the new leaf means it’s finally finding it’s happy place!

Yes. I resorted to a being bare root in a shot glass with a thin layer of sand and a drop of weakened fertilized water because no matter what it would either droop from not enough water or rot from too much. It’s been curled up and angry since I got it. 😑

Are you giving it enough time to adjust to all of the different places? I also heard moving or changing substrate and fertilizing simultaneously can be too much of a shock to a plant sometimes too

I think the issue is that it came to me in goo…it’s tissue cultured and I didn’t read close enough. So it was rejecting all the substrate. I have been careful to make changes gradual, but one by one it’s leaves curled up and died… Anywho, didn’t mean to hijack this post…sorry, Eleanor! 😪
