Hi! This was one of the first plants I was able to grow in my journey to become a plant mom that isn’t in danger of all her babies being taken away from her…lol. Now that I’ve learned more and joined this app to see others endeavors, I’m wondering if she’s as happy as I thought? She definitely continues to grow, usually at the ends of her long “weaves” (such as where she’s grown across the yoga cat on the desk and where she’s touching the floor). Is this what many people refer to as “leggy”? What will make her happier? Looking forward to your opinions!

If its growing well then it’s probably fine. But yea, that’s usually what people refer to as leggy. Most of the time its the plant looking for more light. You won’t be able to make the current stems more full, but you could always tuck their nodes back into the soil (use a bobby pin to hold it there) and those spots will begin to produce new vines. If you like how it looks right now then great! Otherwise you could try moving it to a brighter location, or chopping the leggy ones and propagating them. But I think your plant looks pretty good to me!

Thank you so much! I’m also just learning propagation, so maybe I’ll leave her to her leggy existence and attempt some plantkin creation :)

Don’t be afraid to experiment! Propagation is a slippery slope. Once you have the hang of it your plant collection can double very quickly 😂 But its very rewarding to see your props grow and become their own beauties. That plant should be a good prop starter for you! You have LOTS of vines to choose from. Just make sure you have nodes on your cuttings, and if you’re going to use water, change it out once every 5-7 days :)
