Meet Mason! i’ve had him for about 5 months now and i’m just wondering if there’s anything i can do for him so that i get more leaf fenestration? He’s just under 2 meters from the window and gets about 3-4 hours of sunlight this time of year, is that enough?

As the leaves develop and the plant grows they’ll “hole up”

The fenestrated leaves allow light to filter through to the lower leaves. As the plant matures you'll have more fenestrated ones popping out but you can't make it happen. If I see a new leaf coming from the lower part of the plant I assume it will not have fenestrations but one coming from the top of the plant might. I love to watch it unfurl and see what kind of leaf it will be. That's the fun of having a monstera!

I had 2 leaves 4 weeks apart open with fenstation. The plant needs lots of indirect light for many hours during the day. I’m a new montera mom and my plant way dying before I repotted all fresh dirt, cut mushy roots off- did coco coir, perlite, vermiculite, and 4 pts pine bark. Get water monitor too.
