i finally got a monstera! i am wondering on how often it needs to be watered and how to make it not look so chaotic (leave everywhere, stems falling over, etc) because it is super full. i also have a question on one of the leaves has some black spots. what does that mean for the plant? and why do the smaller leaves look different than the bigger leaves.?

You can stake your monstera, it’s a climbing vine plant in the wild. With yours specifically, it’s a bit too large and likely too mature for it to quickly adapt to its new form if you repot need stake. Meaning you’ll need to be ready to chop and root, etc. With that said, if you only *just* got the plant, I recommend acclimating it by giving it the standard care for a few weeks before going wild on “reshaping” her.

I concur with the above ☺️

i definitely won’t be reshaping her anytime soon since i just got her. she just looks very full and some of the taller stems are droopy.

I saved a plant that was left in a hot car and it’s leaves looked like that. That could be it.
