Hello! I’m new to the Monstera world and was just wondering if someone could help me out.. there’s a bit of browning at the stem bases and a few of my leaves are yellowing. It was a bit dry so I did water it (hopefully that’s all it needed). Other than that does it appear to be healthy to trained eyes? Thanks!

over or under watering can make such a big difference in your plants overall health. so yes, i bet that’s all it needed. monsters like to have a long watering, so usually when you water them you want to put them in a sink or a tub and give them a watering for 2-4 minutes. for now, that’s ok you didn’t do a long wash because if you just bought it, you don’t want to shake it up anymore. then, you could try every day misting the leaves with just a normal spray bottle with normal water, or you could try to mist it with Epson salt only on the bad leaves. your plant looks healthy, other than the yellowing and browning leaves. and what I just cleared up, should solve it! it will take a while for the leaves to go back to normal, and if they don’t change in two months or so, you could research on how to cut off leaves. you don’t want to leave the dead leaves on because it will just keep sucking life from the good leaves and cause your whole plant to die. hope this helps, I recommend doing a ton of research, finding sites, and you could also go onto Pinterest. there’s a lot of good things about monsteras on there. wish you best of luck!

Easily be overwatered, Monsteras need to be water like once every 9 days or so. Basically wait until the soil dries. Having a draining soil helps a lot too that doesn’t retain much moisture. She will grow just fine 😊
