Canāt believe I got this beautiful Monstera from Lidl about 2 years ago and it was about 30cm tall, now look at this giant!! Just sprouted a brand new leaf and itās the biggest yet, always find it so interesting to see how the plant changes as it matures š Happy Friday š±
š In around October last year I put it in this massive pot as it was growing really quickly with the bright light in my flat. Since then she has exploded with growth! When I water it, I absolutely drench the pot outside and leave it for a while to fully drain and when promoted by planta I add miracle grow liquid fertiliser which tends to work really well! Sheās deffo due a repot/root cutting soon but itās so big itās going to be a two person job š another small tip Iāve picked up is to trim any small unnecessary leaves that arenāt adding to the plant, it gives more energy for the big leaves š„°

My front room is really dim. Iāve recently added a grow light and this seems to be working wellā¦ but I donāt think it can replace a beautifully bright room! I just use baby bio fertiliser but have just started using a seaweed foliar spray so time will tell! Have you got a photo of the fertiliser you use so I can give that a go too?! šš
1 gilla Yeah of course, I would say a grow light is a good shout tho! No problem lemme go find it now for you š„° I just randomly bought this and use it for all my houseplants, itās worked amazingly for me!

THAT LOOKS AMAZING!! Have you had to separate it at all? Mine is also about 2 yrs old and itās just so floppy Iāve tried putting poles in it and thereās just so many leaves I can never configure it correctly, Iāve been wanting to separate it for a while but Iām nervous Iāll kill it and I wasnāt sure if it really needed it
1 gilla Thank youuu! No I havenāt separated this one since I bought it, only repotted, but I believe thereās two plants in there. My boyfriend had another Monstera though and it was really sad so I completely chopped away at it and propagated 6 plants from it, some just leaves with nodes on and some just stems with no leaves. They have all done very well tbh and are growing much better so maybe give something like that a go and have some babies š Iāll attach some of the pics of the propagated ones so you can see!
Thank you!! I will give that a try!
