Hey everyone, new to the app. Can y’all help me out: my monstera has some very healthy green leaves and growing strong and tall but I’m worried about the new growth at the base here. Is this a product of under-watering? I assume that this plant needs to be repotted to a larger pot. Any thoughts?

Monstera plants I learned is that they LOVE their roots to be close together and not spread apart. I had a rough time in the beginning because of my potting. Proper drainage and tropical potting soil is best to keeping your plant healthy. They do not like tons of water or any soil that retains it as a tip! It’s totally normal to see yellow/brown I usually prune and clean that off of my plant just means she healthy and growing!

But I would keep an eye if your seeing a lot of yellow up the stem that’s a sign your over watering. You can usually tell with the leaves. But from what I can tell you have a happy Monstera

I’m no expert, but I don’t think it needs to be repotted. When was it fertilized last? Is it getting plenty of light? It loves lots of filtered light and being watered when the soil feels dry about three inches deep. It should have good drainage after watering. Don’t let it sit in water as it won’t do well with wet feet.

Just cut the little bottom "skin" off. I highly recommend owning a moisture meter. You'll never have to worry about overwatering or under watering ever again! I can share link, if you'd like?
