Hey guys, can someone help me, I feel like my Thai constellations is looking sad. The new leaves are coming in yellow and look sad. I purchased this about a month ago and have had it sat on a table in front of my south facing window. I feel like there’s been no growth, and the growth I’ve had has been the yellow leaf coming in. The big ones are looking a bit sad now. Is it getting too much sun potentially? Or maybe needs repotting? Any thoughts/ideas. I’ve taken it down from the table the get better pics.

    Hi Jenn, I’d move it to partial/indirect sun because and check amount of water you are giving to your Thaï. I found mine to be less thirsty than my other Monstera Deliciosa, so just double check if the top soil is dry before watering it. Another thing that I love is to giving seaweed stimulants to them, specially in spring, it really boosts growth :) Good luck!

    I would say to repot in a chunky soil mix. That soil looks very dense and it’s probably holding on to moisture way too long. I water my 10in regular monstera like every 2-3 weeks and I heard that these Thais are very prone to root rot. Good luck!

    Agreed. It appears to be over watered which is likely due to the soil. Many wholesalers put plants in cheap all purpose soil. I would definitely recommend a repot.

      I was wondering about why they did this and one answer I found interesting is that these commercial plant sellers expose these new plants to an abundance of light and therefore heat which is why they use soil that retains water better… which is then why the soil should be changed at the consumer level because the environment is probably drastically different. Interesting food for thought anyway!
