Just got Herman Monstera…is this how he starts a new leaf!? How long till it’s full size, do y’all think?

    New leafs come out from the most recent leaf and you never full know the size until is unfurls and hardens

      My Alexa thinks what I described there is a new stalk (will make him fuller with more leafs from it too, once it matures and gets taller)

    I got mine as a gift in May 2024. She's two feet tall now and has big leaves. She hasn't fenestrated yet but I expect soon. I kept her in the living room and this group suggested she needs more sun to fenestrate so she's in an East window. Her nodes have exploded since I moved her a few months ago.

      Herman is near my east facing window and has a bit of full spectrum light action too…he seems happy for the few days I’ve had him so far…

    I used a single pole after I noticed the leaves weren't holding themselves up. I would say, depending how fast he grows, maybe in the next few months you're going to need one. I believe you'll know when it's time. I used the single pole until I moved her in February. A while back someone said I probably have several plants and, when I changed her soil in February, I realized I have four plants. This person said each plant should have a pole. I got these on Amazon. I like them because they bend, which makes it easier to get the nodes close to the pole. It takes a bit to bend them so there's no worry about them breaking. I think you can buy poles that are already in a loose spiral.
