What should I plant my Thai Constellation in? I’m thinking it is in coconut coir but I’m not sure. I currently have a monstera at home in a panic of potting soil, perlite, and orchid bark. I’ve heard some things about leca but I’m not sure how to use that or if I should? Help!

I use a mix of orchid bark, perlite, peat moss, and coco coir for my Thai con. And she’s doing great! About equal parts peat moss and coco coir, 1/3-1/2 part bark, and 1/4-1/3 part perlite

LECA all the way! My Lil Monster loves it! I get bags of it from IKEA. Sometimes I boil it to clean it or use a hydrogen mixture and soak it. Then I clean all the soil off the plant roots and place about an inch or two of leca and then place the plant in the container and put leca all around. I like using glass containers for leca plants. I make sure not to fill the water up past the roots. Water when water is gone or leca is dry towards the middle. The Leca Queen on YouTube has a video about how to clean Leca.

I have my buddy in a pretty good chunky mix of potting soil (fox farm), perlite, straight up orchid bark (not the premix), charcoal, and enrich powder from WeTheWild for root support. Mine is pretty happy and it’s first new leaf had a fenestration 🤠
