Rescued this poor thing from my mother-in-law. She is ours now and my daughter named her Swissie 🙃 Any hope for her? She was really badly over-watered so I cleaned up her roots and put her new soil that I’m letting dry out for a week-ish. Her stalks feel quite rubbery and “bouncy” rather than firm and perky —yep, I said it. Good news is that she has ONE wee new leaf, so I’m taking this as a good sign 🤞

I would cut the yellowing leaves off wherever they connect to the stem. The plant will still send energy to them and it will take a way from new growth. How big was the root ball of the plant?

Personally, I would take the plant out of its pot and trim all of the dead roots and all of the bad leaves.. also maybe try thinking about taking what’s left of the plant and put it in water? I’m not sure what the best answer is, but that’s what I would do personally. ;)

has the plant ever been fertilized? the new leaf looks like it may be dying due to nitrogen deficiency. it may be so wee for the same reason, or due to lack of light depending on where it was placed. if it was in a really dark area (remember that plants idea of bright/dark is different than ours) that most likely exacerbated the issue. if her stems don’t firm up soon i’d be concerned about some kind of internal infection due to the overwatering
