I cut the browned tips of my monstera, but theyre starting to come back :( anyone know what could be wrong? Is it a sign of root rot? I attached a picture of where shes located. It is a west facing window, but we are very close to our neighbors home, is she not getting enough sunlight?

I’ve seen the browning with too low humidity. Is that possible?

Hmm maybe. I mist her every morning, would the leaves feel different if they needed more humidity?

If you cut through green tissue to remove crispy, brown tips, the plant will form a crispy, brown scar to prevent moisture loss from the cut site. As long as it's not spreading, it's fine. She definitely looks like she's not getting enough light in that picture though, so if that's the brightest widow you have, I'd suggest getting a grow light. Also, I wouldn't recommend misting her. Misting doesn't really do anything to increase humidity and can lead to leaf rot. It's best to just buy a cheap humidifier and place it really close to her if you're concerned about humidity.

Got it thanks! If shes not getting enough light, is there a way for me to tell? In the afternoon for about 3-4 hours she gets a LOT of light being reflected off of our neighbors home

Variegated plants need more light than their all-green counterparts because the white sections can't photosynthesize. Even in an unobstructed west facing window, she might not be getting enough light in 3-4 hrs to thrive. You can buy a light meter or use a light meter app to verify, though. I use the Photone app. It can calculate if your plant is getting enough light based on the strength of the light source and how long it's being exposed to the light.
