Hi everyone! I’m new to house plants but have learned a lot from my girlfriend. I got us each a Monstera Albo. The one pictured is mine and I’m doing everything I can to give it the best chance to thrive - moss poll, appropriate sized pot with draining, good soil mix that includes soil mix, perlite, little bit of spaghnam and peet moss, and orchid bark on top. I also have this dedicated grow light. I’m concerned about the new baby leaf growing. It’s a little limp and I’m not loving that it’s a bit yellow. Any recommendations on what I should do to improve the baby leaf?

It does look like a little leaf, but im guessing its one of the oldest leaves on the plant. Its totally normal for older leaves to yellow, theres no way for you to make them green again though. The rest of your plant looks really pretty! Im not worried, id just cut it off :)

That yellow leaf is the oldest. Your new leaves comes from the stems of the newest leaf before and with the right conditions will be bigger and have more fenestrations

It looks like a new leaf might be forming on the stalk of the old yellow leaf. Would you recommend I cut just above where the new leaf seems to be growing from? Or cut it off close to the node?

That’s not a new leaf, though I see why you think it might be. That’s just the sheath, nothing new will grow from there. You can cut the whole leaf off or just leave it until your plant decides it’s gotten all it can from it and drops it itself 😊

If some context helps the visualization here is where my next leaf will come from. Out of the last leaf the plant put out — usually its will come from the biggest leaf
