My new baby monstera is still adjusting to her new environment (I’ve only had her 2-3 days now) but she already has roots growing through the bottom of the pot… do I repot now so the roots aren’t exposed to air for any longer or should I wait a few more days until adjusted? Or will she die if I repot already?

  1. RRoots

The same thing happened to mine, I waited a week so that it could be more acclimated to the new environment, then I repotted. The roots will grow really fast, even when they are out of the bottom of the pot, so just check up on it daily.

honestly roots growing out the bottom of the pot isn’t really a bad thing. it’s doesn’t harm the plant and it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s ready to repot. i would pay more attention to how fast the soil drains, how fast the it dries out, how light or heavy the pot is, it it seems to be taking up nutrients and water etc. these can all be signs of a plant in need of repotting

Well it came in this 2inch pot and I left it a few days before watering as it was pretty damp still when I got it, then it was dry yesterday so I watered it and it’s bone dry again today… does that suggest it needs repotting now?
