Do thai cons need silica? I just got my first one today. I do have monstera deliciosas and adansoniis, but was wondering there are any special care tips for thai cons I need to know about.

Wolfen 🐺I give mine silica to help with burns on the varigation. I give it to all plants now too

It's $24 for the silica gold I'm using. It's 32oz, you use like a capful per gallon of water. So it's pretty cost effective. There's other smaller bottles like the bloom city one in the pic for $12. It's well worth the money. It also fortifies the plant against pests.

Autumnyou don’t need it, but it’s always an option. i just use my own soil mix that’s extra chunky and fast drying! tai cons sure love to get root rot. 😵💫

Thanks for the warning🥴. It was in really dense soggy soil so I changed the soil to about 50/50 potting soil and perlite with a bit of bark added in. It was from Walmart but I think they had just gotten them in, the roots were good and it def needed to be repotted. I think I'll see how expensive and how easy to get a hold of this silica is😂
