Help! I’ve had this monstera awhile now, and she just put out this new leaf. It feels really rubbery and isn’t sitting upright like the others - is that normal? Also I have it in perlite, monstera specific soil, and orchid bark, with sphagnum moss around the base for humidity and a humidifier, but I don’t have a moss pole or any way for it to grow upwards, is that something I should do? I repotted not that long ago and don’t want to shock its system, some of the leafs don’t have holes and aren’t growing. I tried adding pictures of everything. It’s getting 12 hours a day of a grow light and some light from a window that’s like 14 ft away. Clearly I am a new monstera owner so pls help me 😂😭

Hey I’m pretty new to monstera also, I’ve been looking into getting a moss pole for mine. All the research I’ve done it sounds like if they don’t have support for the back of the plant eventually it will kinda end up all over and not nice and collected. I’m going to repot and put a moss pole on mine soon, I’ll let you know how it goes! Mine likes right next to my window but I’d think I grow light would be just as good🤷🏼‍♀️

To me it looks like you need better soil I like to use a mixture of 1part orchid bark 1part perlite 2part soil and I transfers my monstera into a smaller pot only gave it like 2 inches of space since monsteras like to be snug and use a moss pole hold it up with twine or velcro hope this helps post updates!!!!

I would definitely use some support of some kind just as it continues to grow. The new leaf is beautiful and in my experience, my new leafs come out just like that and then they slowly “harden” and sit upright like the others with time

I think these are typically slow growers. That new leaf seems normal to me. They will harden off eventually.
