My husband swears that this is a root that needs to be buried... And I'm trying to tell him it wouldn't be green that's got to be a stem but it's hard and it's growing kind of crazy instead of growing up the trellis if it was a leaf? Any idea what's going on 🤔🤷♀️🙏
Thats an arial root. Hes not totally wrong, but you don’t have to bury it if you don’t want. They’ll put those out looking for something to grab on to for stability, they don’t always get it right and grab onto the pole. You can let it go, it won’t put out new growth along it though. Or you can tuck it down into the soil and it will grow roots and add nutrients to the plant. If it’s pliable enough you can try and bend it back into your trellis, be careful trying this as you could snap it. If you snap it, it won’t harm your plant.

Definitely an aerial root. I found one growing from my ThaiCon and it was growing into the decorative planter. 🤷🏽♀️🤣 I tucked it into the nursery pot. 😆
2 J'aime , I hate when he's right 😩🤣🙄Yeah it's definitely hard and not flexible it would snap if I tried to bend it at all that it's growing so fast too maybe I should trim it down some and then try to convince it to go downwards when it's shorter
2 J'aime Do you guys think I should repot it some of the roots are coming up out of the soil as well and I'm having to water it every other day I don't know if I just put way too much perlite being afraid of root rot.. or if it just needs a bigger pot but I know that they don't like a lot of room so I don't know it's only been about a month since it went from a six to an eight inch it's not a real old plant I'd say I probably had it a year so it's probably going to be a year and a half? I don't know
