   There’s a couple possibilities for why you’re noticing those spots. If you’re misting heavily and leaving the leaf under a grow light or in the sun, it’s possible that those dark spots are burns from the light. (The water droplets act like little magnifying glasses which causes the light to burn those spots.) Sometimes misting plants can also lead to bacterial or fungal growth on the leaves if they’re in a really damp, low-air flow environment. It’s also possible that the spots are due to pests or overwatering if you’re seeing brown spots on new leaves. If you’re not sure what the cause is, I may be able to narrow it down a little more with a couple good phots (if you want). As far as when to get a moss pole, it’s never too early for a monstera! I prefer to start mine early with them.
