Just a question about my Monstera Adansonii, it has gotten to the point where it’s about 4 1/2 feet long, but it’s in a really small pot. Is there anything I should do? I am also afraid of it going into shock and dying. It’s one of my favorite plants what do I do? Just for background information, it has been vining along my window and the wall around it and is in a pot that is probably 8 inches in diameter. Should I repot or leave it? What dirt should I use and should it be in a hanging pot?

Wow it looks great! They don’t mind being a little root bound. If it’s wall to wall roots it should be easy to pop it out and put it in a new pot with minimal root disruption and it should be ok. As for hanging it, that’s a personal preference! The big thing is to keep in as close to where it lives now because it seems to love the current conditions, and they’re most sensitive to light and temp changes

In short — I think you can leave it alone. Unless there is stuff I can’t see from the photos, I don’t see any signs that it needs a change. If it’s too long, you can cut it wherever, and it will fill out again quickly

You also can cut it and propagate the those cutting to make a new ones to put in another pot so you can have 2 ☺️
