nutrient deficiency probably. look into hydroponic fertilizers

Yeah. I got it as a cutting (it’s my first monstera) and the lady said to keep it in water

Eep, no. Right now I have rocks in my jar. I worry that if I dump out the water the rocks will fall out and damage the roots.

I definitely would be changing the water because the roots will absorb all the nutrients out of the water and just leave it completely depleted but changing the water regularly will also add air back to the water which will also help if you by chance have an air bubbler and any tubing I would throw an air bubbler or like an air Rock in the bottom of whatever jar you're using and connect the air filter to it and let it do its magic

Okay, will pouring out the water and rocks damage the roots?

It might damage some of them but it won't damage the majority of them which that's what you need so it's okay if we lose a little bit of roots here and there

I use a combination of liquid silica for plants and fish water for fertilizer

I have multiple fish tanks that I pull water from so yes it has fish in it but no at the same time lol

A lot of philodendrons can be grown in water or water leeca a which is semi hydro and they just thrive I don't know why but they do and when you add a little bit of fish water to it they just love it I've been using fish water as my fertilizer for years now I don't buy it I get it for free like there's so many people that have tanks and don't have plants or vice versa have lots of plants and no tanks and don't understand the correlation between the two they thrive so well together

Sigh, I had fish years ago but I’m not so great with them… (rip) at the end of the day I just had a sucker fish and had to rehome him because I couldn’t keep the other fish alive 😅 Should I leave my monstera in water? Or would you recommend I move it to dirt? I’m so scared to move any of my “water growing” plants to dirt and have them die.
