Hey everyone! I just got a few new plants, one being a Swiss Cheese Monstera(Monstera deliciosa) It is my first time having one and i have it currently in my college dorm. Any advice would be greatly appreciated :)

    Get a brace for it and humidifier, they love it and will start to produce more air roots that you just let grow into the soil. Those roots will act support and send extra nutrients to the top and make the leaves grow bigger. If you prefer the smaller leaves you can just cut them off. This monster(a) started in my dorm 9 years ago. I traded it for two cartons of milk with a classmate. It’s now over 2m/6’7”. Good luck!

      thank you so much for the helpful tips! would you say a humidifier is necessary for this type of plant? Also that is gorgeous monster(a) LOL

      The humidifier will make the plant grow more air roots, but it’s definitely not mandatory. You can also use an empty vase(or any kind of container w/ a large opening) filled with water as a humidifier as the water evaporates. A moss pole also works for this purpose, but it will make the plant less sturdy since the roots won’t grow as long and hard. So it will need to be secured to the wall when the plant gets bigger.
