Hey! I need some help on my Monstera. I think I’ve had her for about 3 years now and I’ve never repotted her. By the looks of things, she really needs it 🥲 can I do it now? (Based in the UK) I’ve heard it’s best to wait until spring/summer but I don’t really want to wait that long! What’s the best soil to use? Also, how high up do i put the soil? TIA 🍀🌿🌱

Pull off that plastic pot- if the roots are wildly bound up around themselves, repot no more than 1 inch bigger than the current pot, and use a chunky/airy aroid mix (there are many recipes- I use something big chunky perlite, orchid bark, horticultural charcoal, worm castings, and around 20% regular soil mix (like normal miracle grow type stuff). They don't need a ton of room for their roots though! And roots coming out the bottom does not necessarily mean it needs a repot- most plants grow water roots down there. You could also just give it a top dressing for now if you wanted. Substrate should be up to the bottom of the green parts of the stem, though if you have an airy enough mix it can go higher if you're trying to encourage roots from from the next node or something? If you felt thats needed. ( This is all just from my own experience growing a big ol' Monstera though- I'm not a horticulturalist or anything!) Good luck !
