Hi! I wanted to get some opinions on my setup. I’m in a dorm, so this is somewhat temporary (3 months until I go home for the summer), but I have noticed some browning on some of my plants and want to make sure it’s not from anything i’m doing here. I set up these grow lights yesterday morning, used them most of yesterday, and have had them on all of today so far. The window is SW facing, and as you can see, there’s a big building there. Gets a lot of sun in the morning (on days when there is sun). However, the windowsill and windowsill area up against the window is pretty chilly, so I put those plants on a towel. I just want to make sure it isn’t too cold! I would love some opinions :)

    First, I love that you have plants in your dorm room! Second, I love the dinos! Not sure where you’re at (how could does it get?). But I think as long as the leaves don’t touch the window they should be fine there.

      Ah thanks so much!! The plants seriously make my dorm feel so much cozier! Same with the dinos :) Unfortunately it gets pretty cold, avg of 25-30°F this past week I would say, but no leaves touching the window!

    Have you tried using a humidifier? You have a very nice set up!

    Browning could be inconsistent watering, leaves have touched the window or not enough humidity. Love your set up, I have tried to convince my daughter to get a plant or 2 for her apartment off campus, but she says she will forget to water them. I’m glad you are so young and into plants. I love your set up. I’d try to get another tiny humidifier and put it near the one with browning leaves.
