I am looking for plant recommendations for my front entry. This is as bright as this area gets. The front porch is covered. Looking for plants that could survive here. I had my snake plant here but moved it over to the decorative fireplace closer to a window and it’s doing much better. I also got some new shelving for even more plants. I’m just waiting on the grow lights to come lol. Im addicted to plants now haha
A big fern or Christmas cactus could go well there. ZZ plant, I love the black one it would go well with the white lol

Wait for your grow lights to come and you can put any plant you want over there! An alternate idea if you weren't planning grow lights in this area would be to use a grow light bulb in your current lamp and/or ceiling light. Lamp would allow a few small plants on the sideboard; ceiling light would allow you to put shelves or hanging planters along that blank wall. If you don't want to change anything about the lighting and your snake plant wasn't doing well over there, there's not many other plants that would either, unfortunately

2 Me gusta lol your post was great. My snake plant just looked so lonely over there haha. It might just be a no plant zone. The plant stands by the fireplace is what started my addiction haha. The shelves were full, but I started moving plants around the house a found some that do better in other parts of the house. And a few plants spend the day on the window sills until night time. My sunroom/ laundry area is the new home for any high humidity plants, currently my bird of paradise and cat palm live in there. They love it. It’s got a humidifier in there as well. lol.

I envy you for all the beautiful space you have to put plants in. I agree that with a grow light, you can have any plant there that you want. A Monstera might be a fun addition.

1 me gustaThe space in the top photo begs for something large. Maybe a ficus benjamina or fiddleleaf, a croton, or a small monstera or large philodendron on a moss pole, or one of the taller colocasia types
1 me gusta I e been thinking the same thing since I moved into this house back in July. A week after moving in I wanted plants. Plants everywhere lol Ive never owned a plant in my life until a couple months ago haha
1 me gustaIf you're new to plants, avoid the croton; they're a bit tricky. Ficus benjamina is even easier than the other ones i mentioned, but they're all decent for a beginner

Since it’s a foyer, you need something bold and/or interesting. How about a succulent display. I may require two grow lights but they could be aesthetically pleasing with the right ones. Or an overflowing pink Panther plant. Will need a grow light but low humidity need. Or maybe a few of the more unusual sansevieria such as fernwood or starfish, or cylinder plant. I find these all interesting anyway and easy care. My succulents always get lots of attention from visitors.
Hear me out, use a grow light bulb in your ceiling light and put a A fish tank on the console with natural plants in it and you can grow plants out the top. It’s bold, colorful and if you have enough plants you never have to clean it. I only ever have to top mine off with water once a week. I have a monsters Deliciosa, Monster adansoii, neon pothos and spider plant all growing hydroponically out the top of the tank, as well as aquatic plants inside the tank. The tank has a Beta male, a flying fox and shrimp in it.
