Made a post not long ago about suggestions for bulbs and what not. Ended up buying two 25watt 30par Sansi bulbs to put in ceiling lights (recession lights with no covering) facing the mantle of my fireplace that I keep some of my plants that were lacking the most sunlight. My plants are doing great, I love these bulbs, they love these bulbs lol BUT I didn't know that they got so hot until after I made the purchase. Last night I turned my lights off and could hear the metal fixture crackling as it was cooling down. Kind of worries me, because why wouldn't it? lol Sooo... anyone else with this issue? What bulbs do you recommend that stay relatively cool, but still work? My plan is to replace these bulbs and still use them, but with an actual plant stand perhaps? I don't know what type of fixture to use these bulbs in without it burning someone or something. I wouldn't have bought them if I knew. 🤧

    All led plant lights can get very hot. It’s not just Sansi. Most come with a warning. I would stop using them in such an enclosed socket. I have some 42 (I know they are over 40) watt sansi bulbs in open sockets. First pic are 36 and second is the high wattage. Second one is a simple floor light stand I got on amazon on sale for about $15. Unfortunately there are not many suitable choices for what you are looking for. You can go much lower wattage but that may not be bright enough. You have option of hanging lights from the ceiling. B I never liked that idea cause didn’t like the look. Depending on how many plants, maybe individual 10 watt sansi clip on pot lights.

      Your set up is so nice! I have quite a bit, 28 plants in total. I keep them all around the house though. I was mainly just wanting to use some supplemental lighting for the plants on my mantle. I have cheap grow lights on my other plants, but they'll need replaced soon enough. I really like your clip light, I may have to get one of those lol. Is your tripod pretty stable? I've read a lot of people have issues with theirs falling over or burning their hands on them. I have little ones running around and three cats.

      That Sansi tripod is not good. I got a fantastic buy on it. But I can only use it when attached to the stand. What you see is it all folded up and anchored to that plant stand.
