I have these two birds of paradise by the door of my home. They keep dying (they look ok in this pic I just wanted to show the entrance)? I can’t tell if not enough water or light. I rent this home so I can’t water all the time. Anyone have suggestions of two plants that would thrive in zone 11a by the entrance doors with little attention

    I don’t think those are birds of paradise. The leaves might look similar but where the growth comes from looks very different

    Get a ZZ plant. They have rhizomes that store water, so they don’t need to be watered often. They do well in most lighting conditions as well.
