Hi Plant lovers! I'm after some advice on these double halo LED grow lights. I've always just relied on natural light but with autumn here (I'm in the UK) and now having more plants in that area, I thought I'd try some grow lights as natural light is rather low at the moment. They are currently around 10-12" above the peace lily (on the right) and the Chinese money plant (on the left) they are on the dimmest setting. They won't be on in the evening usually, this is just to show you. They will be on in the day to supplement the natural light. Is the distance OK? Is the brightness OK? Or should they be brighter? The orchids you can see are actually behind the lights, not directly under them. Thank you in advance.

    Also the plants lower down on the right hand side aren't covered by the light but they do get most of the natural light in the day.

    I would say it looks great! I’d just watch out for early signs of burning (any scorched leaves will start to brown)! Best of luck and happy gardening!!

      You will not have to worry about burning with those lights unless you are right up on the light

    I have noticed that the halo lights ultimately do not emit a high enough number of luxes to mimic natural sunlight. if you want full sun plants indoors you're gonna want over 10,000 luxes of supplements light. Outside it is about 120,000 luxes to give you a comparison for full sun. Yours appears "to my eyes" to be only several thousand on the top plants and I would consider the outside plants shaded. I would not worry about burning them as much as long as you're more than a few inches away. I've been growing full sun plants under high wattage lights with them being only a few inches away and they have worked out perfectly fine. It's about the amount of heat in emits and some lights have a passive radiator on the top, which helps.

      Ok thank you. I didn't want to go too high for my first lights as I was a bit worried about damaging the plants as I'm new to the whole grow light thing. They don't emit any heat as they are LED full spectrum lights. I'll observe and see if they're making any difference at all, I can always turn them up, I thought I'd start on the dimmest to begin with. Thank you for your response, I will bear that all in mind. Much appreciated.

    This is what the item descriotion says, it's alien to me but probably means something to someone...     Do you have a lux metter app? If not, you should definitely download one. Those plants in general thrive with about 30,000 to 60,000 lux. You could adjust the distance from there
