Hi plant friends, Iā€™m ISO of genius storage solutions! Iā€™m going to attempt to reorganize my spare room this weekend, which is where I keep all my plant supplies, my propagations, and several plants, but also all my clothes & shoes. How do you store your substrates? Pots? Other random planty items? I havenā€™t posted photos of the room because itā€™s an embarrassing disaster right now. But any recommendations for storage systems are most welcome. The room is 12x12,ā€™ to give you an idea of size. Photo of cat with plants for your viewing pleasure. šŸ˜ø

    I don't know that my storage solutions are genius, but hopefully they can help or inspire something that will work for you ā˜ŗļø ā€¢Substrates stay in bags on the floor, getting slightly shuffled around every time I use or replace something. I keep them towards the front for easy access. ā€¢Pots inside pots inside other pots inside- well you get the idea lol. I have over 50 spare pots and a bunch of drip trays on the shelf, all condensed down into 5 large pots. ā€¢All my chemicals are shelved high because cats. ā€¢Spare shelving is stacked and/or boxed to keep it contained. ā€¢A hanging closet organizer on the ground to store most remaining plant accessories. ā€¢Hooks. Everywhere. For everything. Step stool, plant hangers, trellises, etc. if I can find a way to hang it, I do.

    I pre mix my soils in rubbermaid tubs and store those in the spare room. For additional supplies (dirt bags etc.) I have a planting station that includes a storage space with a door- i shove everything in there and close the door quickšŸ¤­ i also use the pots in pots stacks method and then shove them in cubby shelf in the spare room or sometimes in the bottom of plant stands with open space.

    I use heavy duty metal shelving for most items. Most soil supplies are in totes on bottom shelf. The cart at the window is propagation and items that are in the queue to be worked on. I have my fertilizer, bug spray, silicone, measured out on bottom of cart with the smaller everyday dose bottles on the shelving. My work table is a mess because Iā€™m currently in the middle of making some displays and repotting. It usually has a lot of empty space. Plus another metal shelf unit in my woodshop/storage room in basement. I have way too much stuff. Wife recently moved her art/craft supplies out of this room to an area in the family room in basement. So Iā€™ll be taking everything down and cleaning in a few weeks. Think Iā€™ll paint the walls also. And Iā€™ll be getting rid of the wooden dresser and adding another metal shelving unit. Best place for the shelving is Samā€™s Club. Tried Amazon and they were not nearly as good and more expensive. Iā€™ll organize it much better once I start the room redo.

      Im lucky to have four bedrooms. So we were able to turn one of them into a craft/hobby room years ago. And the basement family room is very large so wife was able to move her items down there. And we have metal shelving for her area also.
