My local Lowe’s had some VERY sad looking plants today and I couldn’t leave this one…the only really happy one there. Meet Polly! (Alocasia elephant ear)

I just added a beautiful Magnolia grandiflora ‘Little Gem’ to my indoor garden. I was hoping it would liven up my space and help divide my living room space from my work from home space. The space now feels alive and my desk is nearly hidden from view while sitting on the sofa. I’ve never taken care of a small tree, or anything larger than a standard sized house plant, but I feel like I’m in good hands with this app and it’s communities. Already excited to post frequent updates!

🤡 Officially a crazy plant lady. ☝🏽Listen: I talked myself out of the lemons and limes when they were $36/ea, because I’m a novice with the tropicals, okay? I finally decided to give one a go when the sign said they were marked down to $24/ea. Well…I got to the register and it rang up as $8 with an 11% rebate. Did I go back for more? Yes, yes I did! 🏃🏽♀️RUN to your nearest Menards and don’t tell them I sent you! 🤭

This is my first successful snake prop. I kept reading that they were super easy to propagate online but mine never did anything (except die). This was one tall leaf for MONTHS that did not die, but did not grow roots at all. So I decided to try cutting the notches and making it shorter, and moved the jar to a different window. Boom. I guess I know which window they like now!!

Any plant suggestions I can add??

I've had this dragon tree for years and years, I think it was an IKEA impulse buy. They're pretty hardy although it suffered through a house move where I placed it somewhere way to dark for a while. But I'm so excited to see it's starting sprouting 🤩
