Batesy Greenery
A week on from my first batch and I’ve been super obsessed. I’ve been buying from a uk supplier, unsure if able to name so I won’t, but I’ve accumulated around 30 plants now from rescue boxes to rare additions that just caught my eye and allowed me to use some vouchers. Can people suggest good grow lights, whether being south facing window but out of direct will be good enough, whether standard humidity will be ok (currently running a humidifier but the plug does t allow me to move too far from the plants so it’s say on a low shelf) I wanted to maximise the light so I put the reflective sheet behind the shelf for the time being Some of the new additions are; Anthurium queen of hearts Anthurium forgetti x Gigi Two mottled syns Three alocasia suhirmanaina reds Alocasia Ninja Philodendron caramel Anything people suggest openly welcome

My pride and joy. Was told that this is a wizard coleus, but I’m thinking it’s a kong variety. Either way, she’s stunning.

I’ve fallen into a Rune craze as of recent & carefully curated & picked symbolically relevant runes to align with the symbolism of each of my plants! For my… Cosmos: Wunjo, Algiz, & Ingwaz, aka Feeling -> Protection -> Manifestation. Extra protection for these moody, more delicate flowers 🌺 —————————————————————————————- Sunflower: Sowilo, Tiwaz, & Jera, aka Light -> Will -> Abundance The light the sunflower wills itself to follow throughout the day rewards it abundantly in the end 🌻 —————————————————————————————- Sugarcane: Jera, Ingwae, and Eiwaz, aka Becoming -> Life -> Transformation. Sugarcane, where a cutoff stock becomes another shoot. A fast growing and regenerative life. The various transformtions it is made into like sugar, molasses, rum, etc. 🍬 —————————————————————————————- Mojito Min: Laguz, Kenaz, and Ansuz, aka Flow -> Fire -> Presence Mint, flows under the soil popping up wherever it wants. It’s leaves leave a crisp essencec, strong and cooly spicy, its presence is unmistakable in a drink, a tea, or a scent within a room🍹 —————————————————————————————- Pineapple: Othala, Wunjo, Algiz aka Inheritance-> Bliss -> Grace. Pineapples tha grow from the inherited crown of the one that came before. It’s sweet, scented, Golden, summer blissfully planted in the ground. Growing gracefully in symmetry while bearing it’s green crown 🍍
