I made a new trellis for my mini monstera yesterday. An old broom handle + jute rope!

This is one on my worst looking plants, but here is a story behind it. TLDR, my sister just moved into a new apartment with her girlfriend. This plant was one of the little gifts that the previous Tennant had left this really sad looking spider plant. I went over there to visit them a couple of days ago and I saw the plant in a pot similar to the one that's pictured below. But it was like soaking wet with bong water and barely halfway filled with strait potting soil. Absolutely no soil amenities whatsoever. They really wanted to keep the plant but they where worried about it not surviving so I took it in. After washing off all the bad yucky soil the roots looked extremely healthy to my surprise so no treatment needed there (the black parts you see are remnants of the old soil that I couldn't wash out). So now I am rehabbing the sad plant after giving it a mixture of potting soil, chunky perlite, coco coir, and activated charcoal. Wish me luck! I'll update again in the next couple of weeks! TLDR: Someone left a plant for my sister inher new apartment now I'm fixing it with love.

Possibly one of the weirdest plants that I have ever owned, If you can guess it you get a cookie! I'll give you three hints. Hint #1: it has seeds so I started it from seed. Hint #2: you can buy it at a grocery store. And Hint #3: it's not a lemon. And NO CHEATING! CONGRATS to Greenslinky for the correct answer. It is a grapefruit tree!

Big Mama’s home. Over 4 feet wide, full of splits, and already acting like she owns the place. I get it.

Proudly presenting my ZZ plant that is just about as tall as my chest! In a 16 inch pot, for scale.

English Ivy from Valentine’s Day (first pic) to this week (second pic). And I added a group photo from before it could even be put on the trellis. This thing is a literal weed. I probably could’ve gone with a wider pot because some vines can’t grow fast enough towards the light. It might not be the most sought after plant out there, but it’s definitely a rewarding one.

Can I get some advice? The leaves are dying and falling off my elephant plant. What can I do?

Just saved a snake plant from a local Walmart with extreme root rot. The soil was extremely moist and smelled horrible. Put her in some new soil, did some snipping and am going to hope for the best 🫡

So much for my rule against buying plants that can hurt me. 😅 Husband and I are making a “goth garden” this year and this agave is perfect for the theme. It’s over a foot across! 🖤
