Yesterday I hit the jackpot on less common finds. A string of dolphins for $4 at Kroger, and a Global green and Baltic blue at Walmart. My favorite thing: browse the plant section “just to see what’s there.” 😁😁 Now. Can I keep the string alive? I am a serial succulent slaughterer for some reason. (A number of string of pearls have perished on my watch and I have a cotyledon that sort of limps along…). Wish me luck. 🍀

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania! 1 snipped pad in 2021, from a near by neighbor’s hanging-into the-ally plant, has produced so many pads. And this year, the second year, I’m being thanked by that pad, and its descendants, with all these yellow, sun bursting, gorgeous flowers!

I cannot remember if I brought this with me in June 2009 or if it was already in the house when I moved in. Not many would have kept an old wooden, over the toilet with shelves, rack that they themselves hadn’t purchased, I.e. a left over. This old wooden bathroom rack has seen 17 years of holding everything from friends possessions, to roommate shelving items, and all in my back bedroom. I honestly thought everyone my age, and who went to school at the same time as I did, learned how wasteful previous generations were, and that everything should be reused. I guess that crying Native American in a canoe died a long time ago. Maybe that’s when Generation X, my generation, stopped caring about things, well except for money. When it came to money everyone believed the Ronald Regan lie. Consumerism (v): Action by a species to consume and never be full while creating species waste.
