Got this calathea from Home Depot yesterday, she was in BAD shape, so I asked if I could have a discount and I got her for $7 instead of $30. Watered her and when I got home cause she was bone dry, pruned her too, got rid of the dead leaves. already looking much better and much happier. Excited to hopefully see how her grow new healthy leaves in the next few months!!

I’ve always been a succulent girly because I just do not have my grandmother’s green thumb. But lately I’ve been trying to inherit it. I’ve acquired several new, baby plants. Peewee and Tiny are two of my new babies. A raven ZZ plant. And a VERY small pink princess philodendron. Tiny already has some pink variegation on one of her leaves. She’s literally about an inch small, hence her name. The mother plant had such beautiful variegation throughout her leaves so I hope I can grow Tiny into a beautiful princess like her mother.

i got this plant back in august and it hasn’t grown a new leaf this whole time. i read while i was researching that it was slow growing but i didn’t realize it would be so slow haha. i realized the soil i had it in wasn’t as draining as it needed to be so i repotted it and the leaf started growing quickly & now it’s popping out! i’m quite sad to see the black. but extremely encouraged that she’s growing! hopefully the next leaf is complete.

Hard to believe I got this Piper Crocatum as a tiny plug at the end of November. The vine is climbing up to the next shelf! It has these cool looking crystals which form on the stem and back side of the leaves (which is a characteristic of this plant).

Gorgeous neon and marble queen from Lowes. They were so bushy and healthy, I couldn’t say no.

Discorea discolor is just a super vining plant. Give it a trellis and it just wraps itself around and around. I chopped the plant right back to one leaf when winter hit and it disliked being near the heater. I placed it near a grow light and a humidifier and it bounced backed immediately. This is the top of the plant and I just added a third trellis now going sideways so it doesn’t hit the ceiling.

My ZZ plant is growing slowly but surely. I truly love this plant because it’s easy to take care of (as long as you don’t overwater it because of the plant’s rhizomes). Thinking it about repotting it eventually.

Token pictures of the Winter mess. The 2x2 cage closest on the right is for rehab; the old rehab was the bedroom window until my recent adventures in mealy bugs demanded more argh. ps A couple of these sucs spent all summer 2023 under supermarket fluorescent lights, which was enlightening (no pun). I finally realized my place has some similar lighting - though LED.
