Hey guys! So I’m normally REALLY BAD at keeping plants alive but I wanted so badly to grow my own vegetables and stuff and have my own little garden, I do have garden beds outside but I was told to start them off in little pots first and then transfer, so far my cabbage plant is growing pretty good but I just was wondering, when exactly should I transfer them to the larger garden beds? I have bok choy cabbage (photo) carrots, tomatoes, lavender, and radishes and I would love any and all advice!

Check your night temperatures to make sure it's safe to plant out. Then you can plant when you have at least 4-6 sets of true leaves. You'll want to harden your plants off before putting them in the garden. (Pardon my eternal paragraph, I can't seem to make new ones in this app.) Carrots do best started where they'll grow; they really don't transplant well. A lot of people say the same about beets and radish but they transplant fine. Put 2-4 radish seeds per hole and you can harvest 1 or 2 from each group when they're small and the rest when they are full size. Tomato stems (but not leaves) can be planted and will grow roots along the stem. I usually pull off the bottom set of leaves and plant them up to that node. And the lavender is going to be slow so don't let that freak you out. Perennial herbs tend to grow slow. Happy gardening!
