these thrrrrrive in neglect. they love bright light and to be dry dry dryyyy. yours is in plastic so I would water this no more than once a month (probably less honestly, particularly if it’s not near a window)

Really? How often do you think watering should happen?

Once a month. It’ll give you information on the plant once you ID it on your profile as a ZZ plant. This is my ZZ, Ziggy. They need a well draining cactus and succulent soil (highly recommend Espoma’s Organic Cactus and Succulent soil, if you’re looking for what to repot it with). They like getting rootbound and being snug in their pots, but it’s important that their roots and rhizomes are at least shallowly covered by soil to protect them, so if they start peeking out through the drainage holes, see if it’s time for a repot. They need their soil to completely dry out between waterings, and I mean it enjoys drought. As for sun, mine enjoys a south windowsill, or a window that offers 6+ hours of sunlight every day, but they’re low light tolerant, meaning they can be in an east/west window (4-6 hours of sun) and even a north window (2 or less hours of sun), but might not grow as quickly. Hope this helps!)

really test your soil. it could be less than once a month if you’re in plastic. Mine is in terra cotta right in a big SW facing window and I water once a month in summer, much less in winter. these want to rely on their rhizomes for water before the soil gets wet again
