I got this spotted begonia gifted to me yesterday from a local coffee shop. I’ve been looking for one. She is so healthy and already has roots growing. This is a north facing window but also has an east window near. Is this location ok or is it too bright??

May be a little too bright, I’d put it somewhere a little more shaded

All of my cane begonias are serious light hogs for whatever reason. She might like the light but I’d watch her super closely while she adjusts! Super jealous of her, she’s beautiful 🖤

Thank you!! What should I watch for? Crispy tips?

Mine will occasionally throw a crispy leaf on their lower, older leaves. I have 3, two maculata and one maculata “Angel wing” but she’s an early hybrid so basically a mini maculata with crinkled leaves. The angel wing likes being at the bottom of my plant shelves but still under direct light. My regular maculatas have literally fought other plants until I put them at the top closest to the lights. I mist mine once every 10 days or so… if I even remember lol. Watch her closely and help her adjust! She might not care about the transition or the light levels. If she gets crispy within 24-36 hours or gets yellowy, move her towards more shade… but ultimately you know your home and plants the best!

Check with Planta and see if you can identify which cane Begonia this is. Some require bright indirect light and others require shade. Also, most require high humidity, but there are some polka dot varieties are fine with regular humidity.
