My friend gave me this plant. I think it was sun burned a couple of weeks ago. But now I have a leaf yellowing. I don’t know the cause. My moisture meter tells me it’s good, not over and not under. I keep it outside under my porch away from the sun. Any help or tips is appreciated!
they're heavy feeders! probably nutrient deficiency. that's the #1 problem i see people have with alocasias, aside from spider mites.
2 J'aimeAlocasias are drama queens and tend to shock when they're moved to a new location. They also like very consistent soil moisture, so watering at inconsistent times can affect it even if it's getting the right amount of water.

If that is an old leaf, it is pulling back the nutrients in that leaf to help feed a new bigger leaf. Don't remove it until it is totally dead. It may need more feeding if you want this to stop happening every time it gets a new leaf.
1 j'aimeThis particular Alocasia is the absolute most finicky one I’ve ever owned and I own dozens. Find her the brightest, most humid spot in your home and leave her there. Never let her soil get completely dry (I water mine around 30% dry). It may drop all of its leaves now that it’s been moved, but it’s an alocasia. As long as the bulb under the soil isn’t rotten, it’ll just go back. I recently moved and it was a very disruptive process for my plants. My Jaclyn dropped every leaf and then went dormant for about 4 months. I turned around one day and a pup was growing. Cool. The next week, the original stump finally starts to emerge. Now that she’s happy, we will try to ensure MINIMAL interruption for this diva. Happy planting and good luck!

1 j'aimeI top water until water drains out of the bottom. I leave a teench in the bottom for the plant to drink up over some hours and then dump out anything that remains at the end of my watering session
