1 gillacutting off flowers is not necessary and i donāt recommend it. the plant worked so hard to produce that flower for you and itās just sad to cut it off. donāt believe everything from the social media influencers!! & aglaonemaās are known to flower more frequently (:
3 gillningarItās recommended by a lot of plant owners because if one doesnāt like the flowers (and some react poorly to the sap that comes from the flowers on this plant in particular), cutting them off will tell the plant to produce more leaves or focus on developing new leaves instead. Itās completely up to you as to if you want more flowers or leaves, though. And for some that react to the sap, which Iāve seen described as feeling like ābroken fiberglass on your skinā, I can understand why some might want to reduce the risk of getting the sap on their hands. Not everyone has that reaction, but if you ever do, it isnāt a bad idea to reduce the risk of future contact with the sap. Hope this helps! š

i also wouldnāt recommend removing a bloom. cutting the flowers off can mess with the plantās hormones. also, anytime we prune or trim a plant weāre leaving an open wound, and this presents risk for infection. i try to avoid cutting plants if at all possible, and sometimes i find it ideal to snap or break off pieces rather than snip. itās ok to do if you really donāt want to see a flower, but iāve always thought itās healthier to allow the plant to go through its natural cycle.
