hello all, i recently made my first ever moss pole, i hope it does the job, any tips would be welcome

    nice! it might be helpful to zip tie a piece of acetate onto the back to help maintain moisture — this is going to dry out fast and the sphag moss is so hydrophobic when it dries out. i slide in an upside down bottle to water my moss poles to prevent the water just running right down the sides

      okay so right now i have a water bottle sitting on top of the moss slowly dripping water into the moss bc it started to dry out and i panicked slightly😭 do u think having a water bottle slowly drip into the moss 24/7 beneficial?

      yup! that’s the only way to water these— because this is open all the way around it will dry out quickly. keep it moist,l

    Yes to the above. Keep it moist otherwise it negates the purpose and a lot of the benefits.

      i have a water bottle dripping water onto it, do u think that is a good idea?

      Did you poke a hole in the cap? If yes, probably. That said keep an eye on it because it CAN get too wet. Then that extra water is just dropping into the soil, which can lead to root rot, over watering, etc
