Beginner that grabbed a few house plants this weekend with our daughter. My wife and I have had a bad track record over the years so giving it another shot. Here are the 2 our daughter picked out. Could use some pointers on how to properly pot.

biggest thing is making sure the pots have drainage holes!!! when you water, you want the extra to be able to drain out of the bottom so the plant is only getting as much as it really needs. too-soggy soil leads to pests and root rot, which you absolutely do not want!

1 j'aimeNo, the pots we’ve had for many years. I transplanted them when we got them home.
0 J'aimeYour rattlesnake plant and Aglomina valentine are nice. I have a rattlesnake plant in a 16 inch pot. It is in a self watering pot which it is loving life. rattlesnake plants don’t like to dry out. They are cool at night. They tucked their leaves in and during the day they spread them out they do this every day also one thing the point out with both of these variety of plants they like filtered water. You’ll start to see the leaves go brown, pretty quick, especially with the rattlesnake plant because of the chlorine in the water. My whole collection is filtered water now and no brown spots on most of my plants.
