I wish Planta would add an option for tissue cultures when adding a plant. First time doing this and I have new growth and roots for all the ones I’ve done! 9 plants! I’m ecstatic! 2 are curled but have roots and new growth so we’ll see…but the rest 🤌
Congratulations! Getting tissue culture to survive long enough to grow real roots is always the hardest part that most people avoid it due to. How’d you do everything from when you got the plants to now? I’ve been considering trying it out due to some of the plants i want being rare and expensive otherwise

I made sure the sphagnum moss was free of any bacteria by boiling it (my choice because I’m paranoid), packed each one loosely in a dome set up with vent holes that can be open/closed/or partially open, grow lights on a 12-hr cycle, and a heat mat. I think the heat mat was the big helper for root stimulation with the ambient temp on the room being around 72 Fahrenheit. Online said to make sure the sphagnum moss was damp like a rung out sponge but the ones that rooted first and the best were the ones planted in the cells in the outer edge of the dome where the condensation dripped down and soaked the moss. I don’t know if I recommend soaked moss, but somehow it worked out. My monstera bulbasaur has roots growing through the bottom and up the sides at 3 weeks. I also have tc self-watering cups that planted 2 monstera devil monsters in to see what would happen and they’re both happy and healthy too.

I completely agree along with s as couple other things like whether there’s a moss pole. Wouldn’t it be great if there was an option to remind you to water your moss pole? Congrats on your TCs!! I’ve got a couple in the cooker as we speak. Just have to do it the old fashioned way. 😉 Godspeed! Share the progress! They are looking really good! 💚💚
