My first Scindapus was this Scindapsus Pictus ‘Exotica’ variety. I bought a full size plant in 6” pot from Etsy (HelloFoliage) in July 2023. I kept it outside on a covered patio where it benefited from the high subtropical humidity and tolerated the excessive record heatwave last summer. It lost only a few leaves in winter when I took it inside for the season. It has tremendously grown more than I could imagine. It’s over 4 feet in the latest picture on a chaise lounge. It’s a very low maintenance plant. I liked it so much that I bout a few other varieties of scindapus. They are all doing well.

Hello foliage is right. Easily one of my favorites 💚 what direction do you keep it indoors?

It was on the floor this past winter in front my south facing windows because it’s too big for a shelf or table. The light was filtered with sheer curtains. It’s on a north facing patio, now. It’s covered, but, the light is very bright since it bounces off structures like my beige shed.

You need one of these! 😆 You appreciate them more when your other high maintenance plants are being themselves! Their leaves fold slightly when they need water. It’s rare to see a leaf turn yellow or see leaf tips browning unless it has not been watered in a long time.
